anwar7 Sigma 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 DC Lens: ... a decent zoom lens was my priority. I had a limited budget so couldn t afford to buy several different lenses and wanted to buy 1 lens that would meet all my requirements and not break the bank! I did lots of research and was impressed by the specifications of the Sigma 18mm-200mm lens. Before I made my final decision I took my camera to my local cameral shop so I could actually try out the lens on my camera. Ha...

sax_man_al Sigma 150mm F/2.8 EX IF HSM
... is a proper macro lens, being able to focus to a 1:1 ratio, that means at closest focus an object measuring 5mm will project a 5mm image onto the sensor or film. A lot of lenses put marco on the label without having a true macro ability. The focal length of 150mm is very versatile. You can photograph insects and other creatures without having to get too close. The large aperture of f/2.8 lets in plenty of light, and combined with the 150mm focal length allows for a beautifully restricted depth of focus. This allows details to be picked out in sharp focus, whilst throwing the foreground and background out of focus. The lens hood is deep and fixes on tightly with a b...

... the nikon 70-200 f/2.8 or nikon 300mm f/2.8 this is the only reason I have docked one mark off the rating. Having said that it is very very good, and you can easily tweak the contrast slightly in photoshop. Autofocus using the HSM provides great performance which is also silent! It can even keep up with fast flying birds most of the time if you are good enough to keep on the bird. According to Sigma this lens won t autofocus with a 1.4x converter, which certainly is true if you use a sigma teleconverter. However, with other converters you can AF! On a canon teleconverter you need to tape over a couple of the electrical contact pins, and with a nikon converter you need ...

FlexiPack Sigma 18-50mm F/2.8 EX DC Macro
... Please note this review is for the Macro version of the lens. There are two versions of the Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 EX DC. The earlier version did not have a Macro designation. Also my experience is based on using the Canon mount of this lens however I am not aware of any differences on the other mounts of this lens (apart from the Nikon with HSM) * I bought the Sigma 18-50mm EX DC f/2.8 as an upgrade to my previous lens (Canon EF 28-135mm IS) as it was not wide enough on my Canon 450D. Having had the luxury of such a relatively long zoom I was in two minds whether the Sigma would be long enough. For this aspect of the lens I cannot really comment, an acceptable zoom ran...
