Advantages: Full Auto Mode, good picture quality, good lens compatibility, good price, multiple exposure mode,

Disadvantages: no backlight on display

This camera is my first "proper" camera, as I used to use only point & shoot cameras. I purchased it about a week ago, and so far I found worth every penny I paid for it.
If you're like me only used to p&s the Canon Eos 300 is a great slr to start off with. It has got a full Auto mode, which works basically just like any other p&s camera, but because you have to adjust the zoom manually, i.e. turn the lens yourself, it does look quite professional(if that's important to you).
It also does things like multiple exposure, which is great for creating ghost images on your pictures.
And the results you get from it are just incredible. Yes, I you are thinking of buying a Canon EOS 300, go for it.
