The wife bought me one of these for Christmas 2 years ago and it has consistently produced decent pictures. Fitted with a Canon 28 to 70 ultrasonic lens, the autofocus is fast, accurate and almost silent. And it weighs less than just the body of my old autofocus camera! There are plenty of modes to choose from: sports, landscape, portrait, etc or you can choose completely automatic or completely manual. I admit to leaving mine on auto pretty much most of the time. The built in flash pops up when required, from the top of the camera. Whilst only being low power, it is fine for photographing the missus at a party or whatever. No more carrying a piggin' ... Isn’t that cheap or what? Canon EOS 50E + Sigma 28mm – 300mm lens for only £300!!!! I spotted this offer at eBay.co.uk. This item is on auction, the final price may a little higher, or much higher depending on how hot the item is. Even at £400, this combo is worth every single penny. The body alone cost £350 (new). The lens should cost no less than £200 as well. Personally, I think the Canon EOS 300 looks better, but it is a camera for people who wish to switch to “real camera” from point & shoot, whereas the Canon EOS 50E is meant for amateur/semi-pro. The 50E is bulkier and heavier. Probably not ideal for people who are very used ... Read the complete review
