I bought this camera about 2 years back. The sleek and slim design drew me to it plus the quality reviews that canon always get. This was the slimmest ixus in the market at the time that I bought it.

First, the camera comes with more accessible function than the previous canon. There are modes such as 'aquarium', 'snow', 'kids and pets' etc to make sure that you have better pictures in more situations. There is also a paranomic function that allows you to stitch the photos together later to form a wide photo. (suitable for those unable to use photoshop).

Second, BAttery life is long. I have situations where I was touring the whole day and needed to snap photos pretty frequently and the camera battery life lasted for about 7 hours. Of course, the size of the photo u take and whether you uses flash will affect it.

Third, you can take photos that can be printed on A1 paper (as long as you pick the right setting). This allows you to take those kind of mtv/poster shots.

My camera has yet to show any defects even after I have dropped it numerous times within this 2 years. I would recommend getting the lowest ixus in the market at the moment if you are just a point and shoot photographer. The lowest ixus is affordable, comes with the functions that you need and you will still be happy with your purchase. Canon pushes out about 2-3 new ixus each year so I dun see the point of getting more functions at that much higher a price.
