This camera is has been on the market a few years now, and has been superceded by subsequent versions, however it is still a stylish and very desirable little camera I have found mine very useful. This camera uses what APS technology, which was new when the camera came out. I think APS was the film camera industries answer to the increasingly popular digicam market which was replacing compact film cameras because the APS film system is more versatile, than standard 35mm photography. Whereas on a digicam you can delete photos you do not want to keep, with APS you can also delete pictures you do not want to have printed. APS is a development of 35mm photography, ... I have had mine for about two years used mostly as holiday and day out camera, I was not disapointed when I got it, its a beautiful design, the pictures were great quality and all was well. On this years holiday it briefy showed an error code and locked up. By repeatedly removing and replacing the battery I got a couple of pictures out of it but eventually the condition became terminal. As the camera is out of warrantee I showed it to my local camera shop owner who was a, very familiar with the problem and b, sorry but an estimated repair bill was £80-90. He went on to show me a drawer full of other other APS cameras with similar estimates or repair ... Read the complete review

First, I have to say that my camera broke in the middle of a big 5-month trip, so maybe I don’t think quite so greatly of it as when I first got it. However, apart from the fact that it stopped taking photos, which is not exactly what I hoped for, when it was working it was, and hopefully is again after Canon fixed it, a joy to have. Most importantly, how good are the photos? The fact that its quite easy to use means that the photos on the whole pretty good. Sometimes a little out of focus but that’s my fault probably, not the cameras. One thing that does occur on a few photos is that they appear a bit grainy and not quite as crisp as I ... I was on the look out for a small, compact camera and chose the Canon Ixus II. I took it with me to California last year and this is my opinion of it. I brought the Canon after much review reading etc. I work within the audio visual industry so was able to get this camera at a considerable saving(£140) from the retail price (£220), although it is cheaper these days. It is so small and cute – yes this camera is cute and it is so light. It comes with a handy carry case which fits on your belt. As the camera is so light you will forget it is there. They say size matters, well when you whip this camera out of your pocket you will get lots of admiring ... Read the complete review

I have had one of these little beauties for about 5 months now, and I have to say just how much of pleasure this camera is to use. From boozy nights out in pitch black conditions to dynamic sweeping panoramic masterpieces, This can do the lot. When buying a camera (especially at this sort of price range), the first thing you have to consider is what you really want ot use it for. If you have a desire to be creative, and experiment with exposure settings, fine focus, processing techniques, then don't buy an instant, buy a 35mm SLR for a little bit of extra cash. If, however, you're like the rest of us, and just want something to whip out on holiday or at ... Read the complete review
