Brazed Canon EOS 3000: ... my mind, Canon SLR s are the definition of SLR Camera s. I absolutely love this camera. I do not pretend to be a professional photographer, but do have a GCSE in photography and know a good photo when I see one. The quality of the pictures this camera takes are very good, and tied with the Sigma lens I use (28-200mm) are very crisp. As you may or may not know, SLR camera s generally get sold separately to the lens...

... camera I am about to review. So, what was I looking for exactly? Well, something not overly expensive, but on the other hand something which would allow me some basic options for taking different types of pictures. After much deliberation and advice from my Dad, (who is actually a rather keen photographer, and was all for me spending a lot more money on something a lot better…) I settled for the Canon SureShot AF-7. Design / Appearance The camera is very compact, and not too heavy to carry around with you. It is a very smart and attractive design, with a dark, black, metallic finish. One thing I have found with this camera however, is that it is very prone to scratches...

... so the Canon EOS 5 is an obsolete camera, but…………what a fantastic secondhand bargain. Canon produced the EOS 5 for upwards of 9 years, by which time, although it was still selling well, it was starting to look a little dated. I ve been a keen amateur and semi-pro photographer for around 20 years. Although I ve used many cameras over the years, I ve always used the Canon EOS range as my main outfit. In 2001, my trusty, 11 year old EOS 600 started playing up. Considering it had had a pretty hard life and in excess of 500 rolls of film through it, I couldn t really complain. I needed to replace it fairly quickly so, on impulse, I bought a ex-demo Canon EOS 5 rather tha...

... a great little camera, not so little just nicely compact. As with most canon products it is hard to find much wrong with it. It s a cheap enough camera and a good allrounder and there are some great offers around. Very user friendly, beginners will find it easier to use than most with enough features to keep them interested but not to complicated that they will want to give up. Match it up with a decent lens or two and the avid photographer will have endless fun creating the masterfull image. Only draw back comes from a slow motor drive which niggles a bit at action shots. But from a beginners point of view you could not ask for a better SLR. Take time to learn...
