Confetti Heaven Ivory Disposable Wedding Camera

Advantages: Retro, fun shots
Disadvantages: Poor resolution compared to digital cameras
**Why I made the purchase**
We bought these for our wedding a few years ago. Despite everyone nowadays having digital cameras, we thought that the element of surprise of getting the photographs developed would be something to look forward to after the wedding. We purchased a batch of 20 cameras which cost around £2 each, then of course the developing costs which were £3-£4, all in all costing around £6 per camera to develop. In hindsight it did add extra expense to our wedding, but we also enjoyed looking at all the crazy photos.
**The camera itself**
The camera is about as low-tech as you can possibly get. It is an old film camera, it is not digital and is essentially a classic throw-away camera which were popular in the 80s and 90s. You can only use the camera once which is why it is so cheap. The camera is made of a cheap black plastic, and for the purposes of the wedding theme, the camera has been "prettied up" by a cardboard sleeve in Ivory.
**Features of the camera**
There are limited features.
1. It takes photographs
2. There is a flash
..and that is where the story ends! Don't be expecting anything as good as modern day digital cameras. The resolution of the images is average (no megapixels here!), some photos are overexposed and come out as a bright white image and some are too dark if there is not enough light. In a dark room, you definitely need to hold the flash, which is a button on the front (a bit awkward to hold the flash in and take the photo). There is a manual "wind-on", so if you think the button on the top of the camera is stuck, it isn't, you probably just need to wind the camera on.
**My opinion**
For a bit of retro fun and to remind everyone of the great days of the 80s and 90s photography, these cameras are definitely fun. At the wedding, depending on your guests, you will hopefully get some good photos that you wouldn't have got without the cameras. That said, there were a lot of dodgy close up shots, a lot of silly shots and the demise of the human being was caught on camera as people steadily drunk more over the course of the evening. The quality of the images was average Joe compared to modern day cameras. The cameras blended well with the theme of the tables due to the cream cardboard sleeve, which is always good if you are a Bridezilla (believe me, we all have our moments!).
**In summary**
I would purchase these again with low expectations and for a bit of fun. Bear in mind, they can be expensive overall if you are buying 10-20, because remember you need to pay developing costs too.
Summary: Don't expect too much and you'll be happy.
