Advantages: Small, high quality pictures, its a JVC
Disadvantages: no flash
.... and no I don't mean that :) I have wanted a digital 'fun' camera ever since I have seen them. I read details, looked at them and always thought, no I will wait. I have used many digital cameras and work in the IT industry so always thought the quality of them was far to low. I again looked around and found the perfect mini fun camera. Below is a comparison so see if you spot what I liked: Sipix Blink, measuring 50mm x 50mm x 15mm, costs £40. Picture quality 640 x 480 (max 100 pictures). L'Espion, measuring 40mm x 60mm x 10mm, costs £35. Picture quality 352 x 288 (max 20 pictures) or 176 x 144 (max 80 pictures) 0.1 mega pixels Fuji Axia Slim Shot, measuring 85mm x 54mm x 6mm, costs £75. Picture quality 640x480 (max 26 pictures) 0.3 mega pixels. JVC GcA50, measuring 60mm x 48mm x 20mm, costs £85. Picture quality 1280 x 1024 (max 20 pictures) or 640 x 480 (max 140 pictures) 1.3MEGA Pixel. OK the JVC costs a bit more that the others, but at the end of the day you have a picture worth having. The JVC is a camera, a web camera and mini video camera in one. You can take up to 2 minutes of low quality video. I used Kelkoo.co.uk to find the best price on this camera and ordered one. A few days later I received my camera and boy was it small. It came with everything you would need, battery, USB cable, desktop holder, carry strap, neck strap, PC software for all operating systems including Windows XP, which many don't have. I took my new camera to work where I tested the picture quality. When I printed my picture in full A4 size I couldn?t believe how good it was, very close to a proper sized camera. The one main problem I have found, but it's the same for all of these ?fun? cameras are that they need decent light, as they have no flash. At the end of the day, they are fun camera's nothing more, use them for fun and you wi
ll be happy. The differen ce though is that the JVC will take good pictures that can be printed off, but the L'Espion is meant for email use. The camera is made well; it's a JVC and not one of these makes you have never heard off.

- 12/12/02 I agree it seems a bit odd not having a flash, but other than that sounds a nice little camera - and a nice op too ;) |

- 11/12/02 I've got a £1500 digital video camera with the facility to take stills too and you need bloody good light for that too! Stoopid thing, fancy not having a flash. |
