Whilst we often use digital cameras these days, there are still times when a single use camera can come in handy. We have tried many of these one use cameras including the Kodak Fun Flash Camera which has proven to be slightly better than some of the other single use film based cameras we have tried.
When looking for cameras such as this we always try to go for something thats on offer which is how we ended up with 2 of the Kodak Fun Flash Cameras. At the time when we purchased them we paid just £3.99 each, which we thought was very good value for a camera that contained a Kodak 35mm camera film.

Our Kodak Fun Flash Cameras were something that we used for a day out when we were didn't want to risk damaging our more expensive cameras. We found that based on overall performance, the way the Kodak Fun Flash Camera worked for us was better than you might expect, although it did have its limitations.
The camera came simply packed in a distinctive looking yellow toned box that is part of the Kodak branding. This bright yellow colourway with red highlights and the Kodak name, ensures that the camera is easy to spot when looking to buy one amongst the other single use offerings. The packing and the camera within are light and well protected prior to use.

We found the Kodak Fun Flash Camera to be nicely formed with an easy to handle shape that felt comfortable in the hand once accustomed to it. The slightly curved indents at the side of the camera offer you a shapely but decent grip when snapping away. The red and yellow themed colour scheme favoured by Kodak is continued on the camera and the over all feel is neat and compact.
When using the camera to take pics we found the flash to be useful in lower lighting conditions. Not only was it ready for use quickly, which was good, but it also provided a slightly brighter flash than some other single use cameras we have used. This was of benefit at times when we needed to use the flash and and made for a better end result with those particular pictures.
************************************************* *********
Whilst the Kodak Fun Flash Camera does feel light in your hand when steadying yourself to take your photo, it doesn't feel too flimsy. Once we got used to the feel and weight of the camera and became accustomed to the positioning of the flash and capture buttons, it became much easier to use.
One thing that you can't do with these types of single use camera is snap away at great speed taking shot after shot. There were times when we were not quite ready to take our next pic and due to the extra time needed to reset everything we had to re think how to take the picture as the moment had gone. This is something that you need to factor into your planned use of the camera.
************************************************* *********
Aspects about the Kodak Fun Flash Camera which set it slightly higher than certain other one use cameras we have tried, were in particular the slightly brighter flash and also the 800 speed film which our cameras came fitted with. This 800 speed 35mm film meant that we could get better, clearer action type shots which we were very pleased with when they were developed.
Although not all the 27 exposures per camera came out in a satisfactory condition, we did find we had some very nice photos amongst those that came out. We put this better over all result in terms of clarity and colour down to the film used as many single use cameras are not fitted with the same type of film.
************************************************* *********
Kodak actually claim that by using an 800 speed film you may end up with pictures which are up to 23% better than those from a 400 speed film. Not being a total expert on these things all I can say is that the results were in the main better than with other similar cameras fitted with 400 speed films that we have tried.
There are times such as family parties, weddings, trips out to theme parks, childrens school trips , holidays etc, where these types of cameras can work well. As a simple to use and user friendly one use camera, the Kodak Fun Flash Cameras we bought worked well for us. They are something we would use again of the price is right. As they gave us a selection of shots, were easy to use and didn't cost too much to buy the Kodak Fun Flash Cameras get a handy 4 stars.
