Advantages: Light, zoom, APS, robust, stylish
Disadvantages: was overpriced now cheap, only comes with one lense
This really is the missing link between full blown camera expertise and the point and shoot versions favoured by the photographically illiterate.
This was originally priced at £300 and for that I would say it was far over-priced. But this has now been dropped to just £150 due to the newer Nikon models coming out over the coming months.
At this price the camera is nothing short of wonderful.
It combines the pro's of having an APS - easy loading film, half-roll rewind, the three different formats and excellent film/picture quality.
With all of the pro's of having a decent SLR camera, with a good zoom lense, clarity of lense through a great manufacturer and the ability to specify film speed's and exposure times etc.
I wouldn't say this is a camera for everyday use, not for carrying along to a party, but for travelling this really is a great camera.
The build is very robust, so it should take a knock or two. And because it's an APS there are fewer parts for the novice to come into contact with and possibly damage.
Worth £150 of anybody's money.
