I got this camera last Christmas, as I was wanting a camera with a zoom lens. I went round the shops trying other similarly priced (and supposedly similarly specced) cameras, and found this one to be the best. Some of the others had a very gritty action to the zoom, especially Olympus, but this camera is very smooth, and can be stopped at any point through the zoom cycle. It has all the features you need in a zoom compact, and as many as some SLRs'. It has a tripod mount which is handy when on full zoom, although most cameras seem to have these now.
