The stay was booked via Haven Holidays and paid for with Tesco Clubcard tokens (note - no longer available). Haggerston Castle is a large site in the very north-eastern corner of England; 10 miles south of Berwick-upon-Tweed and directly adjacent to the main A1 road. If you re the sort of family that goes to a site and stays there for the full week or weekend, never leaving, then you ll probably love Haggerston Castle. We re not and we didn t. ... you are looking to relax and enjoy yourself, this is not the place for you. There are no sun loungers around the pool, and the pool rules are ridiculous - no eating, drinking, smoking, wearing of shoes etc etc. The lifeguards job seems to be about policing the pool and telling patrons off for minor offences rather than actually making sure people are safe. And they need to be told that clicking of fingers at people is unlikely to receive a warm response. Do not purchase anything from the on site shop. Walk 25 minutes into town instead where everything is at least half the price. The supermarket near the train station in town was excellent. Our flight home was...

... returned yesterday from a weeks stay at this campsite with my husband and two boys aged 4 and nearly 3. We booked the holiday through Eurocamp. We went with them to a different campsite last year and found them to be efficient and cheap plus we not only got an early bird discount but also a repeat booker discount. We got a boat from Dover-Calais (90 minutes) and then drove to the campsite. We took the motorways, which were free flowing although very expensive. To drive on the A1 we were charged 14 euros (an unexpected expense!). It took us about 3 1/2 hours. Upon arriving I went to the campsite s main reception.
