well i stayed for a few days what can i say i loved it it was the second time i had been camping i will be returning the only negative thing i can say is that the pool was not heated it was freezing but apart fron that i had a pleasant stay

CALLOW TOP WAS A CLEAN SITE. I WOULD HATE TO BE ANY NEARER THE PUB THAN FIELD 6 OR 7 AS THE NOISE FROM THERE WAS LOUD ON AN EVENING WITH THE DISCO. ON BOOKING WE WERE ADVISED VERBALLY AND IN WRITING THAT OUR £15 DEPOSIT WOULD BE WITHHELD AND KEPT BY THE SITE IF NOISE WAS MADE AFTER 11PM. We have just returned from Callow Top and I have to say in all honesty we were a little disappointed. The location was nice enough, in the Derbyshire hills, and on the Tissington Trail, but it was a very busy site and not at all quiet, especially on Saturday night when the female vocalist entertainment could be heard in field 5, 200 yards away from the Callow Inne. I was also not impressed with the opening hours of the site reception and the shop both closed at 5pm. There was little parental supervision at the on site pool which was not enforced by the site management, despite signs and CCTV. I went here for a week last summer. Camping's come a long way in terms of facilities these days - and this campsite is "tops". It has loads of onsite facilities - the best being a very good large clean and heated outdoor swimming pool, which is free to campers. It has about five fields, some which have electric points and some that don't. We stayed in field 4 which is the largest with a large area for playing games and stuff in the middle.
