Advantages: 24hr Supervision, Huge list of Activities, Effortless to arrange

Disadvantages: Could always be cheaper!

The idea of sending my child away from home to be looked after by people i have never met before filled me with dread and to be honest, the idea terrified me.

However, as all parents know, when a child wants something it is very hard to refuse, especially given the amount of effort Mark (my son) went to in researching the camp, finding out costs and even comparing costs to how much his babysitter charges!

The camp offers 24hr supervision and care for children between the ages of 7 & 17yrs old, and during the day provide around 10 activities ranging from Abseiling and Climbing to Quad biking and Kayaking.

There is no way that during one week and for less than £500 that i could arrange all those activities each day, food, overnight accomodation, and 24hr supervision without me lifting a finger.

I have given the camp 5 stars, however as you can imagine when you have a large group of children in one place you will always find a bully. Mark did not experience any bullying, but he did tell me of one child who was quite agressive.

This child in particular was fairly rude to the staff, but they seemed to deal with him extraordinarily well. Despite him apparently swearing at staff, from what Mark tells me they were always very calm with him in an effort i assume to integrate him with other children. In the end, the boy starting being mean to other children - almost at once he was given a final warning and rather inevitably was then sent home by the camp.

I would strongly recomment this camp to any working parent for the summer period - their website is www.campbeaumont.co.uk and there are camps all around the UK offering different a style of camp and range of activities at each one for differing age groups.

I paid £360 for one week, lower than the price in the brochure as i took advantage of one of the many special offers they have throughout the year.

Summary: Camp Beaumont offers an easy way to arrange a fantastic experience for your children over the Summer
