One for families (Camping Castell de Montgri / Costa Brava)
Member Name: Terraza
Advantages: Always something to do. Disadvantages: The price of drinks in the Panorama bar in the evening. This is camping for the cosseted, where, depending on budget, you can go from tent to chalet. I have stayed here in a tent and a mobile home. I stayed at a Keycamp tent this year, complete with sunloungers, barbeque and outside dining table. The advantage of the chalet accomodation is some, but not all have air-con, so check it out before you go.The site itself is a boon for those with young children. It has a different pool for all ages, from babies to mum and dad retreat (La Bassa). All pools have lifegaurds in attendance, and they run a tight ship. On site they have a supermarket which compares to off site shops and they will deliver to your accomodation, free depending on spend, this is great for when you first arrive and saves lugging water ect. up what can be a steep climb, depending on where your situated. They have an outdoor, but covered, movie theatre for rainy days which shows current movies for all ages depending on time. The Panorama pool becomes the venue for on site entertainment, but beware the price of drinks here, which can get more expensive as the evening wears on! For those travelling here independantly, the nearest airport is Gerona (Barcellona) and the bus service from here is regular and reliable. You need to take a bus from the airport to Gerona town centre than a connection to the door of the campsite, this will cost in all around 9 euros per person. A great place for those with kids and a short walk to L'Estartit. Summary: A good well run campsite. |
