It`s worth your while doing it with proffesionals even if it costs a bit more

You can camp on all public beaches in Mauritius. Most public beaches have toilet facilities. You will however need to be careful as the island is becomeing less and less safe so better be a small group than only 2. Yemaya Advetures offers an overnight camping trip on kayaks on an island called Bernaches. The trip starts at Roches Noires in the North and you will paddle across a beautiful lagoon before reaching Ile d`ambre. There you will paddle among the mangroves. Its very peaceful and you can do some snorkelling as well. You will set camp at around 17hrs and enjoy a barbecue dinner by the camp site. The next day you paddle down wind towards kalodyne after a breakfast on the beach.
They also offer hiking with camping as well as mountaibiking camps.Contact them via their web site www.yemayaadventures.com or on haberland@intnet.mu The guy`s name is Patrick H
