WOW WOW WOW!! This is truly THE best camp site that we have ever stayed at, and we have been to a few of all different sizes in the UK, France and Italy!! Well run, with lots to do for the whole family it's the perfect destination for an active, or relaxing camping holiday. It is a large, active site with 2975 pitches, but it's also well designed so you don't feel squashed in. Clients come from all over Europe, though there are lots of Dutch and Germans so it has a really European feel.

We have been here twice, and intend to visit again next year, we just love it there so much. Both times we flew into Venice with Ryanair and then hired a car which worked well for us, if you shop around you can get great deals - I guess you could drive via Calais, Zeebrugge or the Hook of Holland yourself, but you would need a fair few stops enroute.

Located on a beautiful sandy beach on the Italian Adriatic coast it's 2km from the small town of Cavallino, with the larger seaside resort of Lido di Jesolo only a short drive away and Venice is also really close (4 miles by boat). We did a couple of day trips into Venice, and to Lido di Jesolo and one evening just went into Venice for dinner - very romantic!

The site has static caravans, chalets and tents, and welcomes touring motorhomes, caravans and tents - there is also an on-site hotel attached to the wellness spa which looks lovely too. The pitches are set in beautiful piney woodland, are quite large and the touring and static areas are very well maintained - they even spray the trees at night to keep the bugs away. Thomson al Fresco, Euro camp and Keycamp are some of the British operators that offer packages to here, though it's worth shopping around - we booked our 'maxi-caravan' direct with the site and were very impressed - it even had a phone, satellite tv,airconditioning and a huge awning!

The site has lots of well run facilities and activities - the waterpark is without doubt the centrepiece with an assortment of 8 pools (one of which is sand based), jacuzzi beds, waterfall, lazy river and spa. It has an on-site dive centre, woodland fitness trail, volleyball and multi-sports pitch, skate park, crazy golf, games room, wellness club, play park and lots of cabaret entertainmnent, a children's club - oh and a disco. This is all on-site and very well maintained. in high season it does get busy, but it's still fun. There's also windsurfs and pedalos on the beach.

On-site there are also eight restaurants, (we loved the pizza on one the balcony overlooking the sea), two takeaways and nine buffet bars as well as coffee bars, (fab cafe und kuchen whilst watching the sport) a mini-market, bakery, fruit & veg shop (which stocks the biggest plums I have ever seen), some gift type shops and a laundrette. For the tourers, the shower blocks and loos are well located and provide excellent facilities. We particularly like the fact that the site enforces a quiet time in the afternoons.

We would highly recommend this site and can honestly say that we found this to be one of the most relaxing hlidays that we have ever been on!!

Summary: Well run, large cosmopolitan site with something for everyone.

my impressions of venice Elegant Venetian buildings and palaces peer over the ancient maze of narrow streets and labyrinth of canals that contrive to make this a unique city. Tourists naturally flock to Venice to experience its inimitable charm. The downside of this can be felt in the narrow streets and cramped piazzas of its sought-after areas. A good way to get to know a more personal side of Venice is to saunter through its romantic back streets and residential quarters. for more information i found travelshop365 website useful

Sounds good, I was thinking of Italy for next yer but do not fancy the drive, problem is the amount of stuff we take flying would mean a major re think and probably add to the cost.
