Advantages: Great service, great value and great sites
Disadvantages: Some sites may be a big too basic for families
Excellent and you are left alone!
Last year we did a tour of Europe covering 6 countries, the Eurocamp booking office were brillant at helping us to work out the nearest sites and the most suitable (as we went by motorbike). We gave them a idea of where we wanted to go and they did the rest. We decided to stay in mobile homes as we wanted a bit more comfort than the tents could offer after spending so many hours in the saddle.
They were clean and comfortable and we can honestly say that we didn't have any problems. The staff were always helpful and friendly, but left us to our our devices.
We stayed at Herbolzheim in Germany, this is a very small site so don't expect a huge shop to purchase your groceries. It's better to eat in the village which is only a short walk away.
Then we went to Zell am See,Austria, this site is fairly big with an excellent restaurant. We took the train to Salzburg from this site.
Then came Lake Garda,Italy a fairly big site and ideal for families. You'll need transport for this site as it's uphill and a distance from local attractions. However you can go on boat trips across the lake.
Then came Figiline Valdarno,Italy(near Florence). This is the best site ever. It's huge with great swimming pools and leisure spa. The restaurant will always be remembered and so popular you need to book a table as soon as you can.The grocery store on site is excellent. The trip to Florence is worth doing;although we weren't too impressed with the Italian trains.
France came next, Frejus(South) wasn't too impressive, very basic and not a lot to do there. On to Fountainbleau (south of Paris)a fairly big site, only a small pool, bar and restaurant and a little off the beaten track. It's a fair walk to the train station for a trip to Paris. Our mobile home site was very large so we had lots of space for a BBQ and sun loungers and our bike.
All in all we were very
pleased with the service. We have stayed in tents before but found the mobile homes more of a comfort and you get your own shower rather than sharing the public amenities.Recommended if you have children!
