Advantages: Peaceful, Natural, Good staff

Disadvantages: Funny smell, Long trip to Paris, Small village

We took a tent to this place for a few days in June. Only an hour from Beauvais. We pitched our tent on a small island next to the river. Really nice - plenty of birdlife and friendly ducks to feed. Toilets and showers were immaculate. Friendly, heplful staff. Some annoying flying insects in the afternoon. The restaurant on site serves your usual tourist grub which was ok but we found a good restaurant in town called something like Gonjon D'Or. There's also a nice little bar at the other end of the village but the name escapes me :) Nice bread from the bakery and a supermarket fifteen minutes walk away.

We booked the coach to Paris but despite being so close it took over three hours to get there. The return journey was the same. Felt like the driver was trying to save fuel and hardly went above 50 km/h the whole way!

Strange, really obnoxious odours at times in the campsite - possibly from the nearby factories across the river but we just left and went out.

Lots of families in prefab tents and your usual bingo and kiddies disco nonsense at night but some people like that stuff and at least the tent area is segregated by a big limestone wall.

Nice place out of season.

Definitely needs more information.

We did the Paris trip on Good Friday and it only took an hour and 15 minutes to get to Paris and an hour to get back, so you must have been really unlucky with the traffic when you went.
