So... I have just returned from the martello and I feel I must apologise for my previous review. This site is just awful. From the moment you first drive in it is clear that your choice of holiday park was a bad one and perhaps you shouldnt have tried to save that extra few quid. The martello sign itself is a clear ... Just had a weekend at Martello camp, Walton. I am feeling rather sad not angry that this site has had the stuffing ripped out of it. It seriously needs an injection of love and care. Everything is old and tired, signs are missing, broken or weather beaten. Shops and entertainment sites are closed due to staff shortages which ... Read the complete review

Have just spent a weekend here at Martello caravan park 08/13. At Walton on naze. Sad is an understatement. Our caravan was clean ish thankfully but it had mould on the bedroom curtains, And dirty ripped sofas and the toilet leaned backwards. This site has had no money or TLC put into it for a long time I'm amazed its even ... Read the complete review

Having just come back from a day out in Walton I decided to have a drive round the site and I was absolutely gobsmacked. I've never in all my days seen anything like this place, it is like the owners have just upped and left and the site has been sat for years. Old filthy wrecks of caravans all over the place, most with boarded up ... Read the complete review

It is my opinion that this place is right up there with all the war zones in the world.Untill a short while ago i had a van on this site, lets see whithin a few yards in all directions, found many sheds broken into, found open sewr pipes where vans have been removed, broken electrical boxes (LIVE) broken glass left on the floor from busted ... I've been going to this site for over 20 years with my parents and grandparents and got my own van 2 years ago. I'll admit, like many others, this isn't butlins or haven but the prices reflect that! the club houses are good to go for a quiet drink in and the arcade keeps the kids occupied for a short while. the pool isn't great, but why do you want a pool when you have spectacular beaches like those on offer in walton? I love nothing more than chilling out outside my caravan with a beer and a bbq with my friends and family. each to their own i guess.

Even pikeys avoid this site because it so dirty. Sort your wig out Mr Watlin you look like a man in drag lol.. I've seen a couple of rats running around in the site office one with a blond wig and the other with a grey wig, i think they were also mating at the time.. not very nice to watch ,, DISGUSTING creatures. I WENT OUT DURING THE DAY TO KEEP AWAY FROM IT.BIGGEST MISTAKE I HAVE EVER MADE.STAFF WERE NOT HELPFUL WHAT SO EVER, KIDS RIDING THERE BIKES IN THE CLUB HOUSE, LACK OF SECURITY.STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS CAMP, HAD TO PUT ONE STAR IN, BUT DIDNT WANT TO

This poor caravan park needs major TLC! I have been there for about 30 yrs both as child and a mother! Club hse and amusemants good but rest of camp just left to rot! Such a shame as the place is lovely, so nice I have actually moved nearby as I loved it so much! Someone please buy and give some serious TLC to this camp!

I had a holiday in a private owned van, i was not expecting the site to be really good as i was forwarned it wouldn't, we were not disappointed, we were using the caravan as a base to explore surrounding area, which was nice, the van was in a good position it wasn't new approx 10 to 15 years old, clean, tidy, modern equipped with all ... I have seen these bad reports, I own my own caravan and it is what you make it, ok it isn't butlins but its has some great club houses and food outlets, I would recommended you hire a caravan from a privet owner as you do get a personal touch and you know you will get value for money, the swimming pool side is great in the summer months and they have fantastic childern entertainment. 5 starts martello walton.

I just had the misfortune to stay at Martello Caravn Park. The park is run down and looks a dump. Some caravans had broken windows and others were in a bad state of neglect. The staff are unfriendly and very unhelpful.I have stayed at most sites in Walton and Clacton and this is easily the worst kept of them all.Avoid staying at this dump!!!!!!

We stayed in a caravan 15-19th October 2007. First we found the bedroom light failed, the first of three times. No icetray was in the fridge. The shower had mould at the bottom of the walls and rotting skirting board. There was no frying pan. There were no matches or gas lighter to light the gas cooker. The lounge seats were ... My son got a tent for his birthday so we figured we should give it an airing. This site and area would truly put anyone off for life. You drove in through an area that I have truly not seen the like of(including several burnt out properties). Not a good start.
