Ogwen Bank Caravan Park / Country Club

Newest Review: ... Holidaymakers in accommodation closest to the A5 might feel the road is rather noisy occasionally, with roaring motorbikes and straining lorries. Our good-sized cabin was nearer the river and beyond the river was a road to/from the local "feature", a large slate quarry. Big lorries infrequently use the road during the day, but this wasn't a big problem for us. Site staff were helpful & pleasant to speak directly to, giving local advice and a chat for example. I reported blown light bulbs twice (and was promised these would be replaced twice), but they were not replaced - I even offered to replace them myself, but they had none... more

I have just come back from a weekend there myself, husband and son this is our 2nd time and we loved it,
The camp is clean and tidy, the club serves lovely reasonably priced meals ( i can recommend the lasagna).
We stayed in a private caravan which was right near the river squirrels, Rabbits and birds came to feed from the garden.
We are looking to get our own van there and I would recommend the camp to anyone,
We are going back later this year

We stayed at Ogwen Bank for one week commencing 12.07.08. and rented a cabin which overlooked the river. On arrival we found a fresh bottle of milk, sachets of coffee and sugar and a new toilet roll. The cabin was clean and tidy and everything worked in it. The staff there were very friendly. The cabin had a verandah with 4 steps down to a small mown lawn, then ferns and low shrubbery down to the river about 50 feet from the cabin. There were 6 ducks which visited us most mornings and rabbits ran freely about. We were lucky to see a buzzard on 2 occasions. Once just above our cabin and another time as we were approaching the exit to the park. The people in the village of Bethesda seemed nice and friendly and I would very much like to visit there again.

Ogwen Bank Caravan Park / Country Club: Nice site, let down by quality of service (570 words)

My group had been to Ogwen Bank Caravan Park a couple of times before, but many years ago. We chose the site because it is close to some much-loved Snowdonia mountains. Our history meant we booked a cabin direct with the site for one week in May 2008. The site has about 80 caravans now (each on bricks) and 30 cabins (like "posh big sheds"). Space between each is fair to generous in my opinion. Parking is sprinkled around the site and available on a first-come-first-served basis. Not a problem in May, but may be an issue for the height of the season. First impressions are that the site and accommodation look very pleasant, quiet and well placed. The site ...  Read the complete review

The staff were friendly and helpful and people in the nearby town Bethesda were friendly too. The place just OOzes tranquility and peace and the waterfall is particulary soothing.
