Par Sands Holiday ParkNewest Review: ... mined stone. The process does involve the emission of huge clouds of smoke or vapour which on a nice day can spoil the clear sky and, I suppose, if the wind direction were right could obscure the sun. The beach is quite wide and very clean and the sea slopes in gently so it can be safe but care should always be taken on any beach however safe it looks. Par Sands could be a good site however ... more |

Par Sands markets itself as the quiet family park on the beach. There is no doubt that Par Sands beach could once have been beautiful but that beauty has been stripped away by a huge factory which runs along one side of it. When you compare the actual view with the brochure with its carefully selected cropping of the photographs you cannot help being very disappointed. The factory is still working and produces a processed aggregate from a locally mined stone. The process does involve the emission of huge clouds of smoke or vapour which on a nice day can spoil the clear sky and, I suppose, if the wind direction were right could obscure the sun. Having arrived a Par Sands Holiday Park On A Short Break I was Greeted by a Friendly and relaxed Atmosphere at reception, and having never stayed in Corwall before was informed of all the best places to visit and given discount vouchers for various tourist sites. The accomodation was of one of the highest standards I have experienced in a Caravaning environment. The Park was right opposite the beach and had a lovely indoor swimming pool, although it was small. The site was very quiet and is very family orientated, with quads and cycles to keep the children happy when we were'nt out visiting the tourist spots. I would give it ten out of ten. I couldnt have had a better ... Read the complete review

We've just rebooked to go back to Par Sands having been recommended to go there by friends of ours. They talked a lot about the lovely ambience and feel of the park and the excellent standard of accomodation provided. Well, we were not dissapointed, on arrival we were warmley greeted by the owners of the park (who themselves have a young children) and given keys to our Holiday Caravan. This is our 4th holiday in a caravan and was very pleased to find a modern, clean and well positioned caravan that we could park next to. The park itself is well landscaped, peacefull (no clubhouse!!), clean and well maintained and right next to a wildlife lake which our caravan ... Read the complete review

We have just had such a wonderful stay at Par Sands, so much so that I wanted to put finger to keyboard. We are well seasoned Tourers who have stayed in places all over Devon and Cornwall and have to say that this park has to be one of the best run I have been to. The site is well kept and managed, the pitch?s were of good size and were flat!!. The toilet and shower block was clean and well maintained and I noticed they had radiators for those chilly mornings. The general feel of being on the park was peaceful and calm and each morning we woke to the tune of the various species of bird who have made their home there. You can see how they have achieved the David Bellamy ... Read the complete review

I was sum what bemused by some comments made about this site and thought i must comment. This is our second holiday in a static van to this site. We overlooked the camping fields this time and thought how organised the layout was.A warden oversees this area and drove around making sure everyone was ok. All pitches were clean and tidy and on exploring by foot ,the camping area, were amazed at the room available. The caravan side of the site is nicely laid out with plenty of play areas in different parts of the site for the younger children to play on.Cars are park beside each van which still left plenty of room for sitting beside the caravan.
