Advantages: Huge secure site, plenty to do, cheap supplies, all mod cons.

Disadvantages: Isolated from anywhere interesting (beach, theme parks etc)

Situated at Godshill, Fordingbridge in the New Forest, we stayed at this site for 10 days during the summer. It is set in it's own extensive grounds with open fields for caravans and tents, and woodland sites with static mobile homes for hire. The woodland stretches downhill to the River Avon where there is a large maintained meadow for sun bathing. Fishing is by permit. Bathing is not allowed (but people do...)
There is a large indoor and outdoor swimmimng pool; a dry sauna and a steam sauna along with a jaccuzzi. In the main complex is a club house with fast food restaurant open from breakfast until late. Bars are open all day and serve hot meals too. There is also a Pasta restaurant on site. In addition there is a very well stocked SPAR shop selling fresh meat / dairy produce as well as fresh fruit/veg; a large range of store cupboard goods, wfrozen foods ,wines, beers and spirits and camping supplies. I found the store inexpensive compared to supermarkets. Great value.
For the children, there is an activity centre where they can play table tennis and pool and the site organises art/craft/drama type activities every day.
The caravan sites mostly have waste drainage, water hook up , electricity and TV points. Once set up, it is great not to have to empty the waste water and fill up the fresh water!!
As parents of a 15 year old boy and 10 year old girl, we love the security that enables them to wander off and do whatever THEY want to do, without Mum and Dad always watching them. They love this freedom and made new friends within about 20 minutes of arriving! For us, we can just relax with a glass of orange, ahem. Bliss. There is so much more to this park, don't be put off by the cost - £20 ish per night. It really is worth a visit.
