This campsite is by far the best in Amsterdam. It's just 5 minutes with the bus. I't also possible to rent a bike nearby. Within 10 minutes you'll reach a ferry (for free) which will take you to Central Station day and night! The showers and toilets are clean and for free! The ladies at the reception are friendly and helpfull. However this campsites has strict rules. I think that's necessary in a city like Amsterdam.
You can find people from of all over the world, it has a mixed audience. You can find families, elderly people, couples and youngsters. Even If you don't have a tent you can stay at Vliegenbos, they offer 4 person cabins. Perfect when it's cold and raining! The prices are above average, but what else can you expect for a place so near to the center of one of the best cities in the world?!
