Regatta Flocked Single Airbed
by feefeedooya
One of my first ever camping trips involved a few poor nights sleeps due to a rubbish camping mat but earlier in the year when i was going camping with the guides i decided i needed an air bed. I need my home comforts to save my poor back and if i don't have a good nights sleep i will be grumpy and thats no fun for anyone.
I chose ... to buy the Regatta flocked single air bed because it was a good brand and had good reviews on the argos website.
Regatta flocked single air bed cost £14.99. You can buy the air bed from most good camping stores and the Regatta outlet shops if you have one near.
I reserved the air bed online and picked it up at the nearest Argos store.
Regatta flocked single air bed comes wrapped in a see though plastic bag, disappointedly the air bed did not have any instructions although its fairly easy to understand what to do. It lightweight and compact when folder up so is ideal for camping.
Regatta flocked single air bed has a hole on the underside of the bed this is where you blow the bed up, i use my argos pump as it has the perfect size attachment for it and takes roughly four minutes to do and foot pump would also do , once blown up plug the stopper into the hole this has the stopper and a screw cap but is one piece.
Regatta flocked single air bed is black in colour with flocked material on it. The material has a velvet feel to it but actually acts as grip, so when you have your sleeping bag on the bed it kind of sticks to it stopping you sliding off.
Regatta flocked single air bed has air pockets built in to the bed for extra comfort and yes it is comfy possibly even better than my own bed at home.
It measures roughly 72 inches long, 31 inches wide and 9 inches tall, i find this to be a great size and should fit everyone.
I loved this air bed and its a purchase i'm glad i made. The air bed did get dirty on the last day when i took it out of the tent to deflate , however i took a cloth over it when i got home and that removed the dirt. I took the stopper out to deflate and rolled it from the bottom so all the air could escape this took no time at all. I had the best night sleep out of the whole camp.
I highly recommend the Regatta flocked single air bed. Read the complete review |

Regatta Flocked Single Airbed
by northernlovely
I have to admit not to being much of a camper, though I have been a few times. All the camping equipment I buy is generally for other uses - this airbed being no exception!
I purchased the Regatta Flocked Air Bed in a single size for my mum when she comes to stay and help care for my newborn. As our spare bedroom is now a ... nursery we can't accommodate a permanent spare guest bed so an inflatable option is ideal. I went for the Regatta as it seemed a bit more well made than the very cheap versions and this is a flocked finish so I thought it would be warmer, softer and the sheets stay on it better.
I paid £14.99 for the airbed alone from Argos, you can also purchase it online and from other retailers such as Amazon, JJB Sports, specialist camping outlets, sports shops and supermarkets. Regatta is a very well known outdoor goods brand so is fairly easy to find and has a certain reputation for quality whilst not being too expensive - my mum has a few Regatta fleeces so even she recognised the brand.
Now it's important to note you don't get a pump with this - you need to get a foot or electric pump separately. I pumped it up with a foot pump the first time and PHEW - I think I might need to tone up, three of us had a go and wow, did we need to lay down on it afterward!! I found an electric pump in the Tesco Direct sale for £4 which was the best buy ever as now the mattress goes up in about two minutes. Much better and less back breaking!
It's a decent size, 185 x 79cm with a 23cm depth. It's more than adequate for my 5 foot nothing mum but I have to admit it's pushing it for me at five foot ten and a bit on the wee side for my 6 foot four hubby. But it's fine for a one or two nighter and far far preferable to the option (ie, the floor) should you be in the great outdoors!
I found that as I expected the flat sheet I put over it stayed on well and my mum had a very good and comfortable night's sleep - the mattress has an inner coil system so there is no sinking feeling in the middle like you can get with cheap inflatables, and it has a double valve, so there is no air leakage (ie, she didn't wake up on a pancake of deflated plastic!).
Letting the air out was easy too - we just opened the valve and rolled it, it went back down to it's flat size of 7 x 22 x 32 cm, which made it very easy to store. It is washable, but really if you've had a flat sheet on it I don't see why you'd need to give it any more than a wipe over, which I do with an antibac wipe just to keep it fresh and clean. It is, of course, fully waterproof, but I wouldn't recommend using it as a lilo! It does mean you can camp out in damp conditions and ensure a dry night's sleep.
We've never had a puncture, but it does come with a little puncture repair kit, handy to have if you do spring an air leak in the night!! But as it's £14.99 and does feel made to last, I wouldn't begrudge buying another in a few years if I needed to. It's saved us hundreds in extra rooms in hotels, and meant my mum can stay over for a night or two to help me out - brilliant. We'll also be using it for guests at Christmas. Overall it's one of the best buys we've had this year as we've had loads of use out of it and it's excellent value for money.
If you're looking for a reasonably priced camping air bed, or a compact guest bed, then you can't go wrong with this Regatta flocked single airbed (or it's sister airbed in the double size, which we may upgrade to so the inlaws can stay!!). Just remember to buy an electric pump, your lungs will thank you for it!! Read the complete review |

Argos Camping Mat
by Apple_Review
This summer I have been out quite a bit camping around, whether it be for festivals or just chilling with mates. With Argos being an excellent local shop selling pretty much everything, I thought I could get away with buying a camping mat there, which I had planned to use to sit on and also sleep on within a sleeping bag.
The ... mat cost me £6 from Argos, which isn't expensive at all. However you most certainly get what you pay for in this instance! The mat is blue in colour with a size of 180 x 48cm. This is a great size for most people and children would easily fit on it, never mind adults. However the quality and comfort of the mat is pretty appalling.
The mat comes wrapped up with two black straps on either end. This means it's a little curly when you take the straps off and it does take a good while for the mat to straigthen out a bit. However, it's best to fold up the mat when transporting it as it's more compact.
The mat is very thin and made of foam. It's not very comfortable, and although most camping mats seem to be made of foam, I'm sure they cannot be as uncomfortable as this one. The mat has several marks and dents on it too and I wouldn't be surprised if it soon rips after a few more uses. However for the price it comes at, it provides more comfort than lying on bumpy hard grass so it's worth buying in that respect, although don't expect utmost comfort and long lasting quality!
