Advantages: Very comfy, holds the air in well.

Disadvantages: Not many.

Although this is perhaps ideal for camping, we use it in the house when we have visitors over to stay, and it's perfect for this use also, so it's pretty versatile. It's easy to inflate, stays inflated, and unlike many camp beds or blow-up mattresses that I've used, it's incredibly comfortable for a night's sleep, and doesn't have you waking up in the morning with a stiff neck and an aching back.

This mattress is also different to others I've used in the design. First, it can be inflated using a valve system, meaning you don't have that moment when all the air escapes after you've pumped it up, which is a real advantage and takes the guesswork out of inflating the bed - it's much easier to decide just how hard/soft you want the mattress. Secondly, the mattress has two different surfaces - a normal plastic surface at the bottom and a softer plush surface on top. This is good as it's both softer and more comfortable to sleep on and it's also warmer to lie on at first, not as cold as plastic surfaces. It also sleeps to squeak a little less when you move on it during the night!

The mattress is a good size, and although I'm quite tall it's a comfortable length - the only thing is that the pillows sometimes fall off the end, so perhaps I'd try to put it against a wall at this end if possible. However, it's a good size generally, and is wide enough and long enough. Also, when it's deflated, it shrinks to a good, convenient size and can be carried around in a bag without taking up much space at all - I think it's great that it packs away so small, and would be ideal for camping because of this - that said, it's also ideal for using at home, as we can store it away in the cupboard when we're not using it without it taking up too much space.

It also seems like it's a pretty hard-wearing material, with a tough, durable surface that never seems in danger of breaking. We've used it quite a lot since we bought it a year or so back, and have found that it's stood up to this wear and tear without any problems. Again, this would be good if you intended to use it for camping, as it's pretty tough. It costs between ten and fifteen pounds normally - we found it at a good price on offer, but anywhere in this price range I think it's pretty good value, as you're getting something that's really useful and versatile and should last you a long time.

Overall, I really like this product, as it really suits our needs, and has been a great help when we've had visitors - everybody who's used it has slept really well, and it's so easy to use - quick to blow up, it stays inflated and easy to let down and store. It's the ideal temporary bed, and I'd definitely recommend it.

Summary: Great for camping or the house.
