A nice folding table from Argos

At home, we recently purchased a really nice and spacious BBQ rack/table. Since then, we've been having family and friends around when the weather was nice and have a BBQ together. We have a small garden table for two people but when we have guests over, there was not enough space for everyone to sit comfortably and enjoy BBQ together. So, we went to town to look for a cheap table to buy. There's enough sitting space for everyone since we have a bench and a swing in the garden, plus a few garden chairs and so we only need a table. We found this folding camping table from Argos on sale for £ 7.99, it was originally £ 17.99. From my quick research, it seems that Argos has finished the sale period and this folding table has now gone back up to £ 17.99. Nevertheless, we had a really deal even considering that we had to buy one urgently since we have my aunt's family coming over to visit for a BBQ. Despite being advertised for camping, we haven't really used it for camping since I am the only one who goes camping/festivals with my friends. However, it has so many other uses other than camping. The folding table is light weight considering it's structure, it only weighs 2 kg and when it's folded it has the dimensions of 7 (height) x 60 (length) x 40 (width) cm. The height of the table extends to 50 cm when it's unfolded. Personally it was the perfect size for what we needed as we only put freshly BBQ food on the table for everyone to share, and it was easy for kids to reach it too. The table has a steel frame, which puts us at ease when we pile all the food on top of it. The table surface is spacious enough for our purpose, it would fit enough food for two average sized families. We usually put about 4 dinner plates with BBQ food on it, plus cups, drinks and other utensils and the table holds the weight. The product description also mentions that the table surface is heat resistant but we haven't had the chance to put anything hot enough to test that. One other use it has is as a desert table for a small party. We had a small birthday party for my dad's 50th a few months ago, and this table serves as a lovely desert counter. We put a fancy table cloth on top of it put fruits, sweets and any other delicacies on it for all the guests to enjoy after the meal. It frees up space on the main dining table and since we prepared half of the sweets beforehand, we didn't have to rush. After the party, the table can be folded away and put in the storage. Overall, this Argos folding table is multifunctional and it is a useful item to have in the storage in any family home. For a bargain purchase, keep an eye on it during sale seasons.... Thank you for reading and reviewing. :) x

For camping, drinks, kids, the beach,...

~*~ Argos Folding Camping Table ~*~ I recently purchased this table from argos at the same time as I bought the gazebo. What first attracted me was the price, originally £17.99 but it was on offer for an amazingly cheap £7.99 . I had first gone to Argos to look for a table that would be suitable to use outside. We had planned my daughter's birthday party to be at home this year rather than a hall and even though we had kept it smaller than usual I knew we would need more furniture so was after a table on the cheap. Ideally I would of bought a bigger table but garden tables don't come too cheap even in Argos at sale time and the nearest thing to what would of been ideal was over £40 which for a 2 hour party was a little over budget and you have the problem of where to store it afterwards. ~*~ The Table ~*~ The table comes boxed and requires no assembly , the table top measures 60 cm x 40 cm and has a height of 50 cm. To open the table is very simple you just pull the legs out then put the safety catch on to stop the legs being able to snap back shut. That is it and you are ready to go . The main colour of the table is white, with silver legs and trim. ~*~ In Use ~*~ Firstly it was used as the drinks table , the table was surprisingly sturdy for being so small and cheap and held 2 glass jugs full of juice as well as 12 -15 cups. It was then briefly brought inside, I had made my daughter a sweet stall / candy cart for her party and had small Chinese takeaway style cartons for the girls to fill with sweets, these were placed on the table next to the stall . The table although only 50 cm tall was just right to bright them up to child level and being white and silver I didn't have to worry about a tablecloth or it clashing with the other decorations. After the party it was put back in the garden and used as an extra table for the children. In fact it fits so well size wise with my daughter's Hello Kitty garden chair that I picked up in Tesco for £4 in the sale, she has now claimed the table as her own she likes to eat at it, play at it, and draw and do crafts. Whilst being outside the table has been rained on , no damage is showing and a quick dry with a cloth and it's as good as new. ~*~ Thoughts ~*~ Despite the table being advertised as a camping table , and ours hasn't ever been near a camp site, its a really handy versatile little table for inside and out. It doesn't take up much room thanks to being able to fold it up. Its a lot sturdier than it looks while still being lightweight enough to transport. It would be ideal to take camping or to the beach and a great size for children too. I'm very impressed overall with the table especially at the price I paid , if they come up at that price again I will buy another as we have had lots more use out of the table than I originally imagined. I did expect it to end up in the shed after the party but no, its currently in the kitchen with the chair and my daughter has been doing her homework at it. It would also be good for a temporary table, for example if you were confined to your bed or the sofa whilst recovering from an illness, you could easily fit t.v controls, phones, drink, snack, tissues, etc on this table. 5 out of 5

Great lightweight camping or occasional garden table.

When we go camping we are normally away for at least 5 nights so making life as easy and as comfortable as possible is very important. Our tent is full height so we are easily able to stand up and go about daily life so it is great to have a few camping tables dotted about the place to stand the tea making stuff on and a place to prepare meals without having to crouch on the floor. We have a couple of lightweight aluminium slatted tables which are great but are not the best surfaces to be standing drinks on or preparing food on so we decided to get a table with a flat surface. We purchased one of these tables a few years ago and it has stood up well to the rigours of camping. It is lightweight (2kg) but also sturdy, the legs of the table fold underneath the table so all that you are left with for transport purposes is the table top which can easily be slotted down the side of the tent when in the trailer or placed on top of everything else. The table stands 60cm high, which for me is a good height (I am 5ft 2 ¾ inches) but is slightly too small for the rest of my taller family. The table surface measures 50x40cm which is plenty of space to comfortably prepare meals on and make a cup of tea on. The table top claims to be heat resistant and I assume it is as I have used it for placing camping stoves on and have placed hot pans etc on it and it has remained unmarked. The surface will scratch if used for chopping on so using a chopping board will prolong the life of the table. The surface is very easy to wipe down to keep clean but I would not leave water sat on the surface as it may delaminate and make the table look tatty. I personally feel this is a good little table, it may be a little on the low side for some but it is lightweight, hardwearing and great to be used as a surface for cooking. We have had our table for over 5 years and I confidently feel that it will last for many more camping trips so comes thoroughly recommended. Currently available in Argos for £17.99 which I feel is a little expensive so if I was to buy another one I would wait for it to be in a sale. Thank you for reading.
