Advantages: More miles from each tank of fuel. It's also eliminated a flat spot on my BMW

Disadvantages: None really, apart from I'd have preferred a different colour filter.

I fitted an ecotek to my BMW in early 04. I always managed to get just about 390 miles to each tank before I needed to fill up. I fitted it just before changing job, but as I still commute along the same routes (M4/M40 corridor), I was really pleased to see an improvement in mpg over the same type of journeys. I can now do at least 425 miles before the yellow fuel warning light comes on.

I had also put the filter on, and in over 20,000 miles of driving since, there has been no problems or maintenance required at all. I remember that when I fitted an induction kit a year before, it had helped the top end performance, however it still had an annoying flat-spot in the mid-rev range, with a slight drop off at the bottom end. Fitting the Ecotek has cured the flat spot and makes the engine much more responsive and smoother.

At just under £50, it really is an excellent mod and must be the best value accessory I've bought over last few years!

Summary: Value for money accessory that has improved my BMW's economy whilst eliminating a flat spot.
