Advantages: Funky design
Disadvantages: Doesn't last long
Everybody who knows me knows that I have acquired quite a collection of air fresheners for the car, along with my nodding dog collection which had to go the distance year ago when I had no area at the back of the car to sit them.
So, this is the latest offering from a friend of mine, and although I have discovered a much better, and cheaper way of keeping my car sweet smelling, I am always willing to give something new a go!
The dice come in plastic packaging with full instructions for use on the back, and suggestions of where it can be used. This is done through a series of illustrations, and suggests in the car, hanging from coat hangers, the toilet (although the actual hanging of it defeats me- surely not on the handle), and in what looks like a garage.
I chose my car, and carefully hung the dice on my rear view mirror, in that time honoured fashion. The ones I was bought are cream with brown spots- sort of reminiscent of animal skin, but I am at a loss as to which animal!
They let out a vague, very pleasant vanilla small, not overpowering at all, and I believed I was onto a winner.
The smell sort of liners around the car for about two weeks, and eventually disappears. Before the total disappearance of any vanilla fragrance, it was actually very pleasant to get into the car on a morning to be greeted by this pleasant smell.
The dice are still there three weeks later, but serve no purpose other then a talking point, as in "why have you got those things in the car?"
WARNINGS
It has to be remembered that these are not a toy, and so they should not be given to children. I assume this is because they do in fact look like a toy, and children would perhaps put them into their mouth. I would imagine that the taste of the perfume is hideous!
PRODUCED BY
AROMATE Industries, which when I found their website, appear to produce most of the air fresheners we see on the shelves
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
These can be bought in garages, supermarkets and chemists, and I do believe this cost just under £3.
VERDICT
If you want a decent air freshener for your car, with a smell which lasts more than a couple of weeks, then these are not for you.
However, if two weeks is good enough, then buy them, if only for a talking point.
They do look quite funky, and come in a total of 3 pretend animal fur colours-tiger stripes, white with black spots, and the ones I have.
One other point to note is that they are about3" cube size so if things dangling from your rear view mirror bother you, then these will certainly bother you.
I am going to recommend them because I did like the smell. I don't think I would go out and buy them simply because of the price in relation to their longevity, but as a gift, they have worked ok. I suppose if I was really inventive< I could spray something sweet smelling onto them thus ensuring their place in the car as a permanent aromatic feature.
I'm now trying to think of what I can do with two furry dice attached in the middle with a piece of string. Any suggestions gratefully accepted

I have left all the added extras such as spaciousness at satisfactory although they are not relevant
