... fully loaded 1100cc Fiesta isn't a ball of fire at the best of times, but it would still get to 75mph (about 10mph down on top speed otherwise). The wind noise didn't seem to bad, although again a Fiesta isn't the most refined of cars. The downsides are that its pretty easy to break into it. There are a couple of locks, but you could force open the box within a few seconds if you wanted to. When holiday time approached and the delivery date for my new car had been put back, I had to decide whether or not to use my old car (a 15 year old Fiesta), or hire a bigger car. I decided to use the old car, but to buy a roof box first. This cost £100 from Halfords (look out for offers and discount vouchers come the holiday season). Their normal price for it is about £130. This worked really well. We loaded all the heavy stuff in the car, but it was really nice to have a lot of space for light but bulky stuff like clothes, bedding etc. It was easy to get to stuff in the roof box and it was very easy to load.
