Advantages: Lovely fragrance and long-lasting.

Disadvantages: Not as cheap as others, (but the quality is superior.)

As I got into my daughter's car one day last year, the first thing I noticed was the lovely fruity smell which she told me was her car air freshener. The air freshener was one of these Jelly Belly, jelly bean shaped air fresheners and it was giving off such a lovely fragrance I knew I would have to buy one.

I have used a variety of car air fresheners over the years and most I have found to be pine fragrances which have often reminded me of toilet cleaner, or weak smelling fragrances which have disappeared rather quickly. The best results I have experienced from a car air freshener have been from the plug-in types, but even those I have found do not last very long and can often be quite expensive.

My daughter informed me that she was very impressed by the longevity of these Jelly Belly air fresheners and the one which was hanging in her car on that particular day, she had actually bought around 3 weeks previously, yet judging by the strength of fragrance which was evident in the car, I would have thought she had just bought it!
Suitably impressed, I purchased a Very Cherry Jelly Belly car air freshener a couple of days later for my own car. I bought this particular one as it was the one my daughter had in her car, but there were a few different fragrances to choose from such as Tangerine, Blueberry and Tutti Frutti in my local Asda which is where my daughter had told me she'd purchased hers from.

These Jelly Bean shaped air fresheners are quite quirky to look at and indeed they look and smell a lot better than those cheap toilet-cleaner smelling cardboard trees in my opinion.
Then again I suppose you would expect quality from this brand as the Jelly Belly brand is one that has developed greatly over the last 50 years to become a recognised snack all over the world and the number one jelly bean. Taking the ingredients used in their jelly beans, they have sought to transfer the intensity of the taste into scents for their in-car air fresheners.

As soon as I hung my jelly bean air freshener in the car it filled the car with its fruity scent. I was aware of the subtle fragrance all the time whilst in the car, but what I like most is getting into the car and smelling the blast of fruity fragrance which greets me. I have given lifts to family and friends and many have commented on how lovely the fragrance is when they get into my car.

Like my daughter, I have also been very impressed by the longevity of these car air fresheners and these last for a number of weeks I have found. At the moment I have a Bubble-Gum scented Jelly Belly in my car which is also a fruity scent and is just as nice and as long-lasting as Very Cherry.
You can also get an idea of the scent of these car air fresheners before buying one as they have a 'scratch & sniff' sticker on the packaging. This is how I decided to buy the Bubble-Gum scent as my second purchase as I wanted to try a different fragrance and this one appealed the most.
There was only one which I thought I maybe wouldn't like from the ones available as I stood scratching and sniffing them in Asda and that was the Blueberry Jelly Belly, as I thought it a little sickly smelling and so I probably wouldn't buy that one. However, I am more than happy with the two I have bought so far and on that basis I am happy to recommend these as they are without doubt the best car air fresheners I have found to date.

I paid £2.97 for my last purchase in Asda but they are sometimes cheaper than this when on offer. You can also purchase these from Amazon at varying prices, but make sure you check all the prices as it is possible to purchase them cheaper from Amazon than in the shops and with free delivery.

Summary: There may be cheaper car air fresheners around but the quality and fragrance of these are unbeatable
