Advantages: small, lightweight
Disadvantages: cheap feel to it
Ordered and fitted one of these to my car, as I got it working with my headunit as well as the 5x8 speakers that are installed. was a little bit worried with the quality of the amplified music, however after installing and testing the unit I was very impressed to say the least.
The unit itself is very small and therefore can be hidden discreetly. At the moment mine is in the boot of the car by the spare wheel as I like to keep my car looking OEM on the inside and out. After fiddling about with all of the wires into the boot, and connecting it up the the speakers, I was very impressed with the increase in sound quality and clarity that it had made.
I was tempted to get a Sony on top amplifier as I have heard lots of good things about these, however I couldn't find one about for the price I wanted to spend and decided to choose the Sony XM, something that I dont regret.
The build quality is a little shabby, and the unit itself feels like its made from cheap materials, but to be honest I never see the unit unless I change one of my wheels, and I dont care what it looks like, Its an amplifier, and therefore only the sound it produces is important to me. If you have less than standard speakers dont buy it thinking it will make your speakers really good, instead invest in some good speakers.
A very good amplifier at a good price, would buy again
Summary: basic amplifier, good price
