Alpine SPS 1329S
by 2night
These speakers used to be in my old car, they were being used with a basic radio / CD player. They were extremely cheap at the time I recall, how cheap I can't remember. The fact that they were affordable when most car systems and their accessories are so expensive made these all the more appealing.
The size of the speakers ... themselves was also important as my car was some what on the small side. These speakers were only around five inches across, this meant they just blended in to the car rather than being a stand out feature. The overall look of theses speakers is quite modern. The main face of the speaker is black, while the centre base drum is a dark blue, this can be covered by the speaker mesh that's provided for this purpose, but I preferred to have them with out, as it made them look far more expensive than what I had actually paid for them. The mix of the two colours works well with a dark car interior, which I had at the time.
I nearly always had the volume turned up to a reasonable, but not thumping level. They had a good sound, not great. At lower levels everyone in the car would struggle to make out what was being said or sung, even if they were right by the speaker. So medium to high was always the setting. This was out of necessity rather than preference.
They did however have a good base sound to them, this didn't result in any distortion whatsoever even at the highest volume setting.
These were a budget buy at the time, I didnt put much thought or consideration into buying them.
But in the end they served me well. Read the complete review |

Sony XS-F6933
by kattybopatty
I recently bought a sporty new car and wasnt happy with the factory standard stereo system and speakers. They just didnt give a good enough depth of sound. As I do a lot of miles in my car it's important for me to have quality music in my car and a crisp sound. I also like the bass to be quite high and have ruined factory fitted speakers ... before trying to get the bass setting right. When I first saw these speakers I was impressed with the design, they look so modern and funky. They're not too big either which is good for creating a sleek professional look inside your car. I was also impressed with the price, for a big well known brand like Sony I would have expected these to be a lot more expensive. I have to admit I had a friend fit these for me as I dont really know what I'm doing and I was in a rush. Seeing how quickly he fitted them I'm sure it wouldnt be a problem for anyone else. After they were fitted it took no time at all to adjust the settings to how I wanted them. The sound is deep and crisp and the bass is just right. I'm really impressed with them. Obviously the bass isnt as good as if you had a bass bin but they're good enough for car speakers. Read the complete review |

Kenwood KFC W112S
by northernlovely
When you think of quality audio, Kenwood has to be in your top five. For car audio it's top. This model, the KFC W112s is up there with the best.
This subwoofer is a meaty 200 watt with a maximum 800 watt power input. It is styled in black with the Kenwood logo over the cone, and has silver plated terminals for high quality ... responses.
It's 16 centimetres in depth with a 32.8 centimetre diamater (with a mounting depth of 13.9 centimetres) which weighs in at 4.4 kgs.
My husband found it easy to fit, though there is an excellent guide online to follow, should you need it. In terms of the sound output, (we listen to anything from hard dance to rock, to opera!) the response bandwidth ranges from 28 - 200 hZ with an impedance of 4 ohm. What does this translate to once you're out in the car?
Loud, high-quality sound, that's what! The bass on this subwoofer gets you in the chest like any decent (well eq'd) subwoofer should, and all this without any tinny sound, fuzz or buzz. My husband loves it and I'll often hear the car coming around the corner before I see it!
You can buy the KFC W112S for just under £40 from Amazon including delivery, this is a good price for the Kenwood brand, though you should note that for the same price you can get a 1200 watt 12 inch subwoofer by JBL (a less well known brand). I haven't tried it and get great results with the 800 watt Kenwood, but it's always best to shop around until you have found exactly what you need.
For us it is excellent and another hit by Kenwood who in our eyes can do no wrong when it comes to audio of any kind! This sub is sure to last us years and will be moved between vehicles if necessary. We love it! So yes, it is highly recommended - if you want a bit of 'kick' to your bass, then the Kenwood KFC W112s is a great sub which won't break the bank but will deliver. Five out of five.
