Disadvantages: Bad low levels
These speakers used to be in my old car, they were being used with a basic radio / CD player. They were extremely cheap at the time I recall, how cheap I can't remember. The fact that they were affordable when most car systems and their accessories are so expensive made these all the more appealing.
The size of the speakers themselves was also important as my car was some what on the small side. These speakers were only around five inches across, this meant they just blended in to the car rather than being a stand out feature. The overall look of theses speakers is quite modern. The main face of the speaker is black, while the centre base drum is a dark blue, this can be covered by the speaker mesh that's provided for this purpose, but I preferred to have them with out, as it made them look far more expensive than what I had actually paid for them. The mix of the two colours works well with a dark car interior, which I had at the time.
I nearly always had the volume turned up to a reasonable, but not thumping level. They had a good sound, not great. At lower levels everyone in the car would struggle to make out what was being said or sung, even if they were right by the speaker. So medium to high was always the setting. This was out of necessity rather than preference.
They did however have a good base sound to them, this didn't result in any distortion whatsoever even at the highest volume setting.
These were a budget buy at the time, I didnt put much thought or consideration into buying them.
But in the end they served me well.
Summary: Cheap and cheerful
