I have a 1999 dodge Dakota, and when my stock speakers blew, I needed to get some inexpensive car speakers. I choice two of these and two of a lesser quality and cost, but overall these sound great. I actually installed these myself, and they were incredibly easy to install and took probably 2 hours total, and thats taking off all of the interior to get to the speaker casing. I have had them in now for over six months, and they still sound just as good as they did the day i put them in. Where as the two lesser quality ones have lost their quality, these keep on sounding fantastic, even when I have the base turned up quite high. Overall I would highly recommend these to anyone who is not a complete speaker head and who just wants some good quality replacement speakers and does not want to pay a lot to do so.
I had a set of these sony xs a1027 speakers that I had fitted in my old car and they were quite good. For a set of 25 watt speakers they worked well and provided me with some good sounds when in the car. I used them as part of a 4 way set up.
I think they speakers were well made and didn't have any rattle or buzz when they were turned up. They could cope well with a decent bit of base without buzzing or banging. I think the treble was ok, not as clear as with some speakers but better than I have had with other cheap speaker sets.
The speakers being a sony product made me confident in their performance and I think they didn't let me down. I think they gave out clear enough sounds when I had them switched on.
When the sony speakers were set up they didn't cause any problems with the cars electrics or anything and I was happy about that. I didn't set them up and paid to get it done but the bloke who fitted them didn't say they were hard to fit. I assume then that they were an average fit for a set of in car speakers.
When they were put in place they looked neat and tidy and didn't look out of place in the car. I don't think they looked anything special but they weren't ugly either. I think they gave a tidy look that I was happy with.
The diameter of the speakers is not all that big and they didn't take up much room when in the car. The cost of the speakers was less than £30 for the set of two and I think that was fine for how they performed.
I wasn't expecting these speakers to be fantastic but they worked better than the speakers the car had before. The old speakers buzzed every time there was a small bit of base going through them, these didn't and that was good.
I think for the money these are ok and work fine. They won't give you the clearest sharpest sounds but they do work to give a decent sound with no nasty buzz or hiss and for the money they are not bad. I would recommend them as part of an in car sound system if used with another set of speakers to make a 4 way system.
