... bought this CD player from Halfords just after Christmas 2008 to replace a fairly low quality JVC one that came with the car. I found it really easy to fit into the centre console and to connect to the speakers in the rear of the car. The sound quality is infinately better than the previous head unit /factory fit. Ripspeed DV720 ... best thing about the Ripspeed DV720 is definately the great price it can be bought for it can be bought online for just over £200 which is fantastic for a DVD player. The player looks really expensive as well with a nice finish and a DVD screen which folds away when not in use. I have to say that I found the player very difficult to install in my car and while i m no car expert I have fitted a good few radios in my time. The wiring for the DVD player function takes a lot of working out. The main disadvantage which i have found so far is that the quality of sound is a little bit poor. Sony MEX-BT5000 ... ll try not to be too harsh on this unit (as I bought a 2nd hand one off ebay) but its difficult not to be with all the problems I have encounterd. Refusing to play certain discs, mp3 discs skipping and the unit would quite often freeze up for no apparent reason. After a bit of research I found out that the problems lie with the firmware on the unit, with most issues delt with by the release of the BT5100 (the same unit but with the updated firmware.) Despite all of this, it was a stunning unit with a superb display, excellent handsfree bluetooth quality and great sound (when it was working properly that is!). Sony CDX GT310 ... fitted this into my Pugeot 306 - the old one was very hard to get out but putting this one in was very easy and simple to do. The audio quality is very good. I ve still got the standard car speakers (which came originally with the car) fitted and it gives a very clear sound. The Aux facility is great and I often plug in my iPod or even my phone to play the music from. The only problem I have encountered is that the Radio (tuner) function - when driving down the motorway sometimes loses signal and it is not too good at adjusting to this automatically.
