Advantages: Connections, sound quality, feature
Disadvantages: Navigation of ipod
I bought this as a replacement for a Kenwood CD player I got with my car, at the time it seemed to tick all the right boxes for what I was looking for - CD/DVD/MP3 playback and ipod connectivity all rolled into a single din headunit.
I was very impressed with the vast improvement in sound quality when I first installed it and still am. Another positive is the massive number of connections round the back and the huge menu where just about everything is customisable, it's almost like a home AV reciever!!! The screen is also very clear and DVD playback is actually pretty good even though this screen is one of, if not the, smallest of the AVX range.
The biggest disappointment for me was the ipod interface. Having forked out extra for the connector I was expecting easy, ipod like navigation however it's displayed in list form and by having to click through each one, or ten, individually it can take a while to find the song you want especially if you have a full 60GB ipod connected. Looking for songs while driving is not recommended!!
Given the chance again I don't think I'd buy this headunit, I'd probably go for the Alpine dedicated ipod headunit.
Summary: Great, if you don't want to listen to music using your ipod
