Buy this if you like the look - but make sure you get the extended warranty

The Kenwood KDC 7024 plays normal audio CDs, MP3 CDs, and AM/FM radio. The display can be changed so that the accents on the keys are either Red or Green, and the system can be connected to other units (CD Changer, DAB radio) if required - it uses standard DIN connections so should be compatible with most cars and external audio equipment.

The main advantage of this unit is that when powered off, the front panel swings closed, hiding the unit from sight. It's still clear that there is something in the space, but less clear what the unit is (and less noticeable in low light). The front panel also has a removable segment, but this section can be tricky to remove as the panel is folding closed.

I have had to replace my unit twice now due to what appears to be moisture related issues - the player has refused to play MP3 CDs for no good reason, while normal audio CDs were fine. For this reason, I would not recommend the device; it's just too sensitive to be reliable.

The audio quality is excellent though, and when it works, the MP3 CD feature is great.
