My Kenwood CD player is great, it really is. At £299 you cannot really complain for what it does. How many of you have had problems with your detachable face stereos? They start to malfunction after a little while. I think its all of the pushing and pulling of the face. The faces become weak and then the connections become faint and feedback. I did have a panasonic that basically fell apart because of this. It was a CD player too which I thought was built to take shocks. It appears not. The Other Kenwood I bought to replace it was a lot better but it got stolen out of my pocket in a night club. So I looked for an alternative. Somethng I could leave in the car and not worry about losing or getting stolen. Hence, The retractable stealth unit that is the Kenwood 8080. The sound quality is second to none. It pumps out 45w per channel into the speakers. Im my Vitara I have a sub in the boot which is powered separately to my head unit but the Kenwood alone pumps some tunes. Its very cool the way it opens up and appears before your very eyes. Its linked to the ignition so it opens and closes without the need to worry about closing it on vehicle exit. It has a large display so you can see what tracks you are listening too or what is on the radio at the time. My first CD player in the car 4 years ago was £250. Now this brilliant idea is availabel for just and extra 50 quid. Brilliant. Well done Kenwood.
