Very good stereo with a low price tag

After being bought a car for my 18th birthday a few years ago I found that there was an old radio cassette installed due to the age of the vehicle. There was no real quality complaint with the stereo but the lack of a CD player and aux lead for plugging in my iPod was an issue; it is for this reason I purchased this Kenwood stereo.

Working at Halfords I was able to pick up this unit fairly cheap, and with the ability to fit the stereo myself I quickly and easily had a new CD player in the car so that I was able to listen to my music easily. The Kenwood 3041A has a very stylish look about it with a two colour display (red and blue) and the display is very clear and easy to understand. The controls are very simple with most options/menu's being accessed from the main volume button. The 50 Watts x 4 power allows for good sound quality (when combined with after market speakers) without having to have the stereo turned up too high. Fade, balance, treble, bass are all options that can be changed, as well as having pre-set equalisers that can be applied to many different music genres.

MP3 player connectivity is easy with a front mounted aux input, a double ended 3.5mm (headphone jack) lead is needed in order to connect any MP3 player but these are failr inexpensive. With 2x pre-out jacks in the rear of the stereo it makes it easy to connect an amplifier, subwoofer, rear speakers to the unit if wanted, however I have never bothered as I'm not interested in having my music that loud! Like most car stereo's these days the front of the CD player can be unclipped so that thieves leave it alone and this unit is no exception.

All in all this Kenwood car stereo is a very good purchase and it won't disappoint, with the cost being under £50 it really is a no brainer!
