I have owned this unit for a year now, and I am so happy with it! It is not as good as newer ones in that you have to find a space for the big hideaway 'brain' unit, and route wiring through to it. It does however perform very well, and is my favourite gadget I own! It plays DVD's, CD's, radio etc very well, and has so many settings for audio, video, monitor action, etc that any technological 'geek' will be happy! I have this connected to the sat nav 'add on' unit, and with that it is amazing!! I have it set for automatic open/close when you start/switch off the engine, which not only makes you feel like James Bond, but also enables you to have a low profile look for a high profile system! I don't even bother to remove the face plate anymore as it looks so inconspicuous folded up!
If it were to be judged on looks alone, then kenwood would be bottom of the pile because it doesnt look that good style wise, but if it were on sound quality, then they would be close to top. it is because of this they kenwood have a big following. the new dmask plus the system is great, with two options for security. one. press a button and it flips the face 180 degrees to reveal a black face. to the decerning thief it looks like there is no facia attached. the other option is to just remove it completly. this is the safest, but not always as convienient. Features wise this unit is great. as i have already said, it encorporates the dmask plus, along with 4x50w, rca preout, bass management, and cd text. this unit is a great all rounder if your not concerned with how it looks.
