Mу plауer in mу 2000 Toуotа 4Runner bit the dust so I needed а replаcement. Here's whаt I wаnted....
1. Good sound. I hаd reаlistic expectаtions thаt it wаsnt going to sound like the ultimаte Best Buу displау model, but I wаnted it to hаve а nice, thick, full-bodied sound.
2. Eаsу to use.
3. Eаsу to instаll.
4. High quаlitу both in mаteriаls аnd аppeаrаnce.
Аnd here's whаt I got with the Pioneer DEH-3000MP
+ Sounds greаt. Much better thаn the fаctorу sуstem. If уou push the sуstem а bit, the bаse fаdes out аnd the mids аnd highs tаke over, but thаt's to be expected without а sepаrаte woofer.
+ Eаsу to use. There аre аll kinds of options аnd аdjustments thаt аre eаsу аnd MOSTLY intuitive. It even hаs а mаgnifуing glаss icon thаt аllows уou to scroll through the trаcks on cds (nаmes included) without аdvаncing the disk until уou press ok. Neаt feаture. However, mу biggest gripe is WHERE IN THE WORLD IS THE OFF BUTTON??? You will most definitelу hаve to refer to the mаnuаl to discover how to turn it off. Not а big deаl but there is nothing thаt indicаtes how to turn it off on the аctuаl displау. Kind of odd. Overаll though, eаsу enough to use. The remote is а nice touch аlthough I feel lаzу using one when I аm within аrms reаch of the sуstem.
+ Eаsу to instаll. Do some reseаrch viа some forums аnd such аnd уou'll hаve this thing instаlled in no time. Like one reviewer mentioned though, the sуstem is а little bit deeper thаn most so mаke sure уou hаve аdequаte cleаrаnce. I hаd no issue.
+ High quаlitу. I cаn't speаk for the longevitу of the device аs I hаve onlу hаd it for аbout 2 weeks, but it seems durаble enough. The luminаtion is verу hаndsome аnd definitelу hаs the look of а much more expensive sуstem. However, the fаceplаte detаches (good thing) but it did not come with а cаse аnd the glossу surfаce of the reciever fаce will most likelу scrаtch verу eаsilу (bаd thing).
FINАL NOTES: Overаll а fаntаstic receiver especiаllу for the price. Eаsу to instаll аnd use, but the lаck of а designаtion on the off button is, well, stupid. Аlso, when switching into some of the modes, it tаkes just а second to register with the sуstem. Not а defect (the reciever's lights to а sort of wipe аcross the screen) but some аdjustments will need to be done while pulled over onto the side of the roаd аs opposed to driving.
I would buу it аgаin аnd definintelу recommend it.
This is the Car Stereo/ CD player that I bought for my last car and, not liking the music system in my new vehicle, have finally gotten around to transferring this over to my latest pride and joy. The reason that I like this so much? Simply because it looks good and sounds just as amazing now as when I bought it and is just about simple enough to navigate that even I can use it! All this whilst still having a few little features that enable me to have a little play around and personalise my listening experience should I so desire to.... okay, so it's not as high-tech as some of the systems around you can buy and could be accused of being a little bit old-school in today's generation, but then Pioneer have always seemed to me to be a faultless brand and there is a lot to be said for good old-fashioned reliability!
I'm the first to admit that I tend to be a tad shallow and that simple little things often impress me so please, don't judge me when I say that one of the things that first attracted me to this unit was the look. I've had it a couple of years now and one of the first things I thought upon purchasing this was "Wow, it looks quite space-age!" This is mainly because the volume blue glows a cool soothing shade of blue whilst other buttons on the unit glow a more vivid red and in the dark, this often looks like something that wouldn't be admiss on some kind of futuristic Battlestar or Space Freighter! I know they say you shouldn't judge by appearances but I always like to like the look of things especially if I am going to be seeing a lot of them ~ and truthfully, if you spend a lot of time in your car, you want something that looks a bit cool!
But it's not just that. By using a simple cable, I can connect my Ipod to my Car Stereo now thus eliminating the need for those often annoying F.M Transmitters that are never all that they claim they can be, lets's be honest!
The sound is great and the ability to alter the bass or increase volume on the vocals etc is easy to use though I tend not to play around with this too much once I have found a balance I like that fits the majority of my music. I find this to be one of the better Car Stereo systems around as far as sound quality goes and even with my bog standard speakers, rather than the fancier ones I had in my last car, I find that this provides one of the crispest, smoothest sounds that you can get from any Car Stereo system.
It looks good without being showy and is a classy addition to your car without making you look like too much of a Boy-Racer or Chav. Also, on the Radio display, the lettering is a bright white and very clear making it very easy to read. And, after two years of service and the transition from one car to another, this Stereo has never failed to impress for me and comes highly reccomended!
I paid around £75 for it originally but have seen it since on Amazon used for £60! Personally, I think this is a bargain for a great bit of kit and it is very easy to install ~ the only reason I haven't done so until now in my new car is more because I am lazy than because it would take too much time!
If you like your music and you are looking for something stylish and reliable, you could do worse than picking up either this or one of Pioneer's related models. Certainly this comes with no complaints from me!
I bought the Pioneer DEH 3000MP for my first car, as i wanted to be able to play CD's and not cassettes! After shopping around for quite sometime, i finally decided on this for my in car entertainment.
The products allows for MP3, WMA and WAV file formats to be played through it, perfect for anybody looking to link their ipod or other MP3 player up to their car. This is possible by using an auxilarycable, inserted into the front of the device. The products, like previously stated plays CD and full FM radio signals, with the ability to store pre-set channels.
The power output of the device is 50w x4, perfect for any small car. I didn't install new speakers to my car, so even with the stock speakers, i noticed the different in sound clarity once i installed this product.
The main reason i bought this product, in all honesty was the way it looked. It was important to me to have a nice looking CD player and this indeed is very attractive. The player boasts blue and red LED's against a black and silver background. The screen has white lettering, making it possible to see what radio staion is on, or what track the CD is on. All functions of the device are controlled by the buttons on the left hand side and by using the silver wheel to switch between functions.
Installation of the device was suprisingly easy. I'm not the most talented handy man, but once i'd purchased a fascia plate from Halfords and pulled the only stereo out, the new one fit in relatively simple. The stereo comes with instructions for wiring it in, which made everyting a lot simplier.
This is not the most technical stereo out there. It lacks bluetooth, DAB, USB and all the other fancy things available on car stereos now, but the relatively cheap price and attractive look makes this stereo a very good buy!
RRP £69. ( an absolute steal, as when i bought mine a year ago it was £110!)
Bought this back In December last year from Amazon to upgrade my in car tape player to a CD player. I wanted to buy a cheap CD player with a RCA pre-out so that I would be able to connect an amplifier to.
The head unit itself looks really good and even better in dark conditions, as the dial around the volume lights up in blue and the other button number light up in red.
As it is made up Pioneer the build quality of the unit is great, none of the buttons look cheap or as they are going to break. The volume dial works great.
The head unit also has an AUX in at the front, which means I am able to connect my iPod via a 3.5mm cable.
The quality of the head unit is great, much better than my old car standard one. The radio quality is great, does not scramble like how it use to anymore. The unit also has the ability to announce traffic announcements, where you set it to a radio channel and it gives updates about the road conditions.
The unit also show the name by the current song that is playing in the LCD display which is great. It also allows you to adjust the settings of the audio to different styles, such as if you want more bass, vocal or loudness etc...
The unit plays MP3 CD's well, however the only thing that I feel is missing is that you are not able to see which song is going to play next on the LCD - without it playing.
The faceplate of the head unit is also detachable, which is great as it makes the car safer. The unit comes with a hard box to place the faceplate in, when you take it out.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a budget line CD player.
