Advantages: Looks amazing and simple to install
Disadvantages: A little out of touch with current tech.
I bought the Pioneer DEH 3000MP for my first car, as i wanted to be able to play CD's and not cassettes! After shopping around for quite sometime, i finally decided on this for my in car entertainment.
The products allows for MP3, WMA and WAV file formats to be played through it, perfect for anybody looking to link their ipod or other MP3 player up to their car. This is possible by using an auxilarycable, inserted into the front of the device. The products, like previously stated plays CD and full FM radio signals, with the ability to store pre-set channels.
The power output of the device is 50w x4, perfect for any small car. I didn't install new speakers to my car, so even with the stock speakers, i noticed the different in sound clarity once i installed this product.
The main reason i bought this product, in all honesty was the way it looked. It was important to me to have a nice looking CD player and this indeed is very attractive. The player boasts blue and red LED's against a black and silver background. The screen has white lettering, making it possible to see what radio staion is on, or what track the CD is on. All functions of the device are controlled by the buttons on the left hand side and by using the silver wheel to switch between functions.
Installation of the device was suprisingly easy. I'm not the most talented handy man, but once i'd purchased a fascia plate from Halfords and pulled the only stereo out, the new one fit in relatively simple. The stereo comes with instructions for wiring it in, which made everyting a lot simplier.
This is not the most technical stereo out there. It lacks bluetooth, DAB, USB and all the other fancy things available on car stereos now, but the relatively cheap price and attractive look makes this stereo a very good buy!
RRP £69. ( an absolute steal, as when i bought mine a year ago it was £110!)
Summary: A brilliant, cheap car stereo.
