Excellent budget unit from a good manufacturer (Pioneer DEH P7700MP)

I have owned this item for around 18 months having bought it second-hand from eBay. I have it fitted in my Skoda Fabia vRS and thus far I have been fairly impressed with it.

Looks:
The player is quite pretty and its facia is a mix of brushed aluminium with piano black in the centre. The display colour is a fixed "digital blue" however the controls can be either red or green. The flip down front means the CD opening is hidden from view. The only downside to this item is that the screensavers on the blue screen can be distracting, and on my model it will suddenely go brighter then darker again every 5 minutes, which can be offputting when driving.

Reliability:
One issue has been the "brightening issue". Also for some reason the volume control knob stopped working, but soon worked again. Strange. Overall very good.

Sound Quality and Features:
As you would expect from Pioneer, the sound quality is very good for a budget unit. 27 wrms from each channel means it packs a punch, and will give even standard speakers a new lease of life. There is an aux output on the back to connect your MP3 or IPOD to, and there are plenty of PRE-OUTS to connect external amplifiers and subwoofers to. I have mine connected to a 4 channel infinity basslink. There is also the option to have DAB radio connectivity.

Summary: A good solid unit with plenty of features for the price
