combining an F.M transmitter with DAB for your car

One of the bug bears I have in my car is the lack of decent radio stations to listen to on the move. I have had mixed results from using F.M transmitters in my car so using my Ipod has rapidly become more of a mission than it needs to be. Transmitters in the past I have used have suffered from bad reception, over-use of batteries or just cutting out at inopportune moments so when a friend recommended this product to me, I admit I was initially sceptical until he mentioned the fact that its main function is as a DAB reciever!

As many of you must know, DAB offers a much wider range of radio stations than traditional FM or AM frequencies with specialist stations aimed solely at those who for example only like Jazz, only like Rock or maybe just want to listen to Eighties music all day long. There is no interference, no crackling, no static and the ability to transfer this experience to your car has long been a market that many brands have been fighting over to crack!

PURE are an established company who have proved themselves reliable in the past with their range of more conventional DAB radios, Ipod docking stations etc...so straight away purchasing this, you know you are buying into a brand you can rely on. This DAB transmitter works directly with your existing in-car radio and sends its signal to a free F.M frequency not currently being used in the same way that other F.M transmitters work but also gives the user the ability to pause and rewind Live Digital Radio broadcasts. You can also play your Ipod/ generic MP3 player through it thus giving you even more options should you want to listen to something other than the radio.....

A Quickscan mode automatically scans for the next free F.M frequency so this is another thing that works in its favour, saving you the hassle of trying to find a free signal. Two AA batteries give this up to 7 hours of power but there is also the option to purchase seperately an adaptor to plug this into your cigarette lighter at minimum cost.

It also can be attached and mounted to the windscreen much like most Sat Nav systems. And this is the only way in which this product falls down in that it could be a bit much to have both this and your Sat-Nav there on your windscreen to the point that it could cause a visual obstruction. But, on the other hand, PURE do offer the option to add new features as they become available via USB so this is yet another thing that works in its favour. And all in all, it is this reviewers honest opinion that, with this product, the positives far outweigh the negatives!

Easy to install, easy to set-up, this is a low-cost option to get DAB quality radio inside your car that avoids having to buy a whole new DAB-friendly car audio system. At around £75, it is certainly cheaper than most other DAB options for your car and of course you can install this yourself in minutes, thus eliminating the need to pay someone else to fit it for you! In fact, using this product could not be simpler and even a complete idiot could fit and use this with minimum fuss or bother!

Overall, this is a good quality product at a reasonable price that I cannot recommend highly enough. If you don't already have DAB in your car, then this is exactly what you are looking for!
