I needed a new system for my car and wanted it to be capable of playing CD's, MP3's and also have DAB so I went for the Sony CDX-DAB 6650 in Car CD player with DAB Radio.

The system head unit is well designed and is a face lift for security, which most of them are now days. The head unit is black in colour with a slight grey monotone colour around the LCD display which itself is a good size so can see it clearly. It has many buttons for you to play with and simple volume buttons on one side and simple skip up, down buttons on the other side. These are the main buttons you'll be using so are very easy to access and are pressure sensitive. The overall design is very sleek and cool looking and definitely be noticed by your friends.

Fitting the unit into your car is fairly simple if you haven't done it before the set of instructions provided are very useful. They will guide you through the fitting and setting up of the system and shouldn't take more than 30-40 mins.

The way the head unit opens to put a CD in is very smooth, it slides down and can be closed after you have inserted the CD. When playing MP3's the names of the tracks are clearly scrolled across the display so you know the track and artist name. The DAB radio function is very good to have if you got no CD's laying around in your car. It receives a crisp clear signal with excellent sound quality. The system comes with a small remote control which can be used by the passengers in the car as the driver can drive safely.

Overall the Sony CDX-DAB 6650 in Car CD player with DAB Radio is a very good system. I actually purchased the system about 2 years ago and is still working fine. It has the main features I wanted, CD player, MP3 playback and DAB radio. I spend around £200 on the system at that time as I got a discount from Halfords, you can get it now for around £150 so is still a good price.
