Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Not many features
I had this car radio CD player in my last car, it was cheap to buy especially compared to the ridiculous prices you can pay for other models. It's rather simple design made it nice and easy for anyone who was in the front to control. As you don't want to have to be explaining anything to anyone when trying to concentrate on the road.
It does of course play Cd's, one at a time it doesn't have multi disc changer, but it does also play MP3 and has an audio in connection so you can rig up your iPod to it and play directly from that.
It has a good overall sound both the CD and the radio. It had a maximum output of 45 watts x 4 that's plenty of punch for the average size car.
The FM radio had lots of presets so you could save all your favorite channels and wouldn't have to be tuning them in while driving. There was a handy little remote so people in the back could change the channels or flick through the track listing on the Cd's. Although the remote did get lost a lot of times and having someone rummaging around in the back of your car is never a good idea. The display was easy to read and the main tuning dial was easy to twist, but no too loose or you go flying past each channel.
The face plate was removable and small enough to fit into a handbag until you returned.
This was affordable, I can't remember how much I paid exactly but I do recall it being cheap.
You can buy one from Amazon.co.uk for £70.
