Advantages: Standard DIN fitting, adatpter leads available for most cars so no need to chop any wires.

Disadvantages: No support for ACC encoded files, so can't burn a CD of your iTunes & play them on here.

Sony's GT300 isn't a bad piece of kit. I bought one to fit in an Espace I bought which had a coded stereo & no record of the code. When linked to the Espace's 6-speaker audio system the sound was excellent.
Controlling the unit is easy enough, just press the volume knob once, turn to select the function you wish to alter, press again, then make adjustments.
Having a CD player that supports MP3 file format is useful as it allows you to create a CD with over 8 hours of playing time, more than enough for any journey, and with built-in RDS, you'll never miss a traffic report again (although this can be turned-off).
The stereo itself features an equaliser, rear hok-up for a CD auto-changer (if you need more than 1 CD), and a front 3.5mm phono port to which you can connect any mp3 player (or a cassette player if you are feeling nostalgic).

My unit only had one annoying problem, every now and then it would switch RDS back on, even though I keep it turned off. This did get quite annoying, especially if I was listening to a CD.
Did I like the stereo?, well, when I sold the Espace, I took it out to put in my new car, so, yes, despite the niggling problem with the RDS system, I did like it.

Summary: Very good value for the price.
