Advantages: MP3/ipod/usb connectivity, easy to use

Disadvantages: Is quite expensive in some outlets

I think that this stereo is a really good buy, but it depends on how much you can get it for really. I have seen it ranging from £70-90 and for either of these prices it represents good value for money, but anything more would be a bit too much.

I will also state that I dont own this myself, my brother has had it in his car for quite a while now so have used it quite frequently.

You are firstly buying a reputable brand no matter what they make, and Sony in car stereos are usually very reliable and are of a good quality. This stereo does feel like it is made quite well and feels robust too. You get some which feel flimsy and as if the buttons would easily break, but this is very simple to use with only one main button which turns, it means that there isnt much chance of anythng breaking on the fascia. The stations are easy to tune in and hold the setting and it is very self-explanatory to use the other functions. The display is very crisp, a nice white bcking light with the writing works well and the red buttons may not be to some peoples taste but I quite like them.

The features are slightly above average too; it has a USB connection whcih allows for a USB stick to be connected and played whilst controling it through the stereo itself. This feature was important as my brother didnt have an mp3 player and a USB stick is very cheap and versatile. I would have to say though that when it was filled up to the limit(4GB) it did take a good minute for it to read the music before playing. If you do have an mp3 player you can simply connect it up using the aux input and control it using the mp3 player itself. You also have the usual CD slot which allows for mp3/wma cd's and also the radio function which finds fm and am radio stations.

The sound quality is surprisingly very good. I have used many stereos of around this price bracket and many sound a lot worse than this one does.

The unit has been owned now for about a year and not one problem had occured with it to date which means that overall I would certainly rate this as a very good, reliable stereo which im sure would not let you down. With the many features it has it will appeal to many people and also the slightly better sound quality is a plus point.

Summary: Good stereo, any more than £90 is probably too much though
