Advantages: Looks nice and good features
Disadvantages: Random flashing lights - distracting while driving.
I bought this CD player to match my new blue Streetka. I liked the fact that it was black blue and silver as it matched my car perfectly - I have to admit that was the deciding vote between this one and another Sony. I bought it from Amazon as they offered the best price (£100 approx) and had it fitted at my local garage for half the price Halfords charge!
Sony is a good reliable brand for most electricals, and as it was my first car & car stereo I thought I would play it safe. It has good features - it plays CDs, USB drives, and also has an aux socket so I can run my phone through it. The aux lead and ISO leads are included in the box too which is helpful. Saves you buying them, approximately £10ish for both. At first I couldn't work out where to put a CD in, but it has an "open" button, and the system flips down revealing another part of the unit. This is where you put your CD in, then push the system back up! It was a little confusing at first, but a nice feature I think now. Also, the front clips off so no-one can steal it. A hard carry case is included in the box.
The sound quality is OK, although I would have expected better. Saying that though, it could be my factory fitted speakers that leave the music sounding a little "tinny". On the plus side, there are lots of different modes for playing music in, including a custom mode. This is useful if you know what you are doing with it!
A problem I have found with it though is that the knob also acts as a button, and sometimes when I go to adjust the volume I accidentally change the sound mode. Also, it flashes a lot for apparently no reason which is very distracting, particularly at night.
Summary: It's an OK CD player for a decent price.
